Song of Starlight: A Lyrical Glimmer

Song of Starlight:
A Lyrical Glimmer

Some nights even now I find it hard to believe
How insecurity got the better of me
I know over past sins I shouldn’t grieve
Nor lament the person I used to be.

But can others know the feeling of being so small
And sacrifice segments of formative days
Can they understand how the fear makes you fall
As you seem like a rainbow in a dark bitter haze?

Of course there are times when dear Sunset reminds me
That rulers, and tricksters, and the chaotic turn face
Still the regret of the past always finds me
And my only hope is sweet Twilight’s embrace.

When regret grips my heart and darkens my mind
And Despair’s spell breaks down the walls of my spirit
That’s when I think of Starlight and find

My past won’t define me, and I need not fear it.
